Expanding the Junior Canadian Rangers

A re-elected Conservative government will expand the Junior Canadian Rangers by 15%, to 5,000 members, in time for the 20th anniversary of the permanent establishment of the Junior Ranger program in 2018.

Junior Canadian Rangers work closely with the Canadian Rangers, providing eyes and ears over our vast Northern frontier.

And as part of the Ranger rifle replacement program, a re-elected Conservative government will honour the Canadian Rangers for their service and dedication by letting them keep their current Lee-Enfield rifles.

Our Northern Strategy is focused on helping the North realize its true potential as a healthy, prosperous and secure region within a strong and sovereign Canada.
